A little bit about me!
I just want to start by saying thanks for visiting my website! I have only recently started learning how to code (little by little), and with the help of itinerae.org's layouts I decided to use those new skills to start a Neocities, for a few different reasons. For one, I dont like using modern social media as much anymore, and two; I *love* the old internet. I was born in 1999 and started using a computer around age 5. When I did learn how to ...somewhat navigate the internet, I didnt know how to use search engines, so I would just type things into the address bar that I wanted to find, followed by [.com]. This amazing method is how I ended up finding my favorite website to visit as a child- dressupgames.com. I would spend hours decorating digital dolls, rooms, and playing Flash mini games. I also found sites like Dollz Mania and Doll Palace around the same time. The graphics on those websites have stuck with me throughout my whole life. The feeling of serenity I get when I look at a pixelated house, clouds shifting in the distance and dew drops glittering on an infinite loop, is unmatched. And I feel that it was an art that was almost underappreciated at the time, because a lot of these graphics arent credited, and are just circulated so much that the original creators are lost to time. A lot of times when I'm on modern social media, I miss the old blinkie graphics, glitter text, and the cute GIFs we used before Emojis existed. I miss how much personality and creativity went into everyone's profiles... I miss the individuality of the old internet. So a lot of my website is dedicated specifically to 90's and Y2K era internet nostalgia, curating old graphics, and keeping them in one place for any future use I may need them for. I am the kind of person who has to make everything I own a reflection of my personality, so I use these graphics for all sorts of things, from decorating my desktop to sending to my friends in messages.
